Miss Saigon

As I have mentioned in previous posts, we have season ticket to Pioneer Theater. Miss Saigon is the last play of the season. We had previously exchanged our tickets for a different day than usual, due to our Palm Springs vacation. We then lost the new tickets and promptly forgot about the whole thing until yesterday when Marc realized that our tickets were for that night. He hurriedly called the theater to see if we could 1. get new tickets to replace our lost ones, and 2. exchange the tickets at the last minute for the next day. Since we are season ticket holders, it was no big deal to reprint the tickets (definite benefit). They also told him that they had 2 tickets left for the show, but they were the most expensive, front and center seats. The catch was that they would cost as an additional $50. Marc called me to ask what we should do. We decided to just pay the extra money and go tomorrow. When he called back (5 minutes later) the tickets were gone. So we now had a dilemma: do we try and find a babysitter and go, give the tickets away, or eat them. We decided to go for it. Marc's parents were so nice to babysit at the last minute. Marc's mom was already at the house helping Marc, and Marc's dad came up after he was done with his day. Luckily I was able to get Alice in bed before we left and Claire at least changed into her PJs to make it easier on the Inmans. We were so glad we went. It was the best play of the season and we both loved it. Marc's only complaint was that they sang most of the dialog (waah). I thought that was a nice touch because then when they sang that actual songs it didn't take you out of the moment. The main actress was incredible and her voice was amazing. The special effects were also pretty good. They had a helicopter land on the stage and take off again (not a real one of course, but impressive non the less). Thanks Marc for doing the leg work so we could enjoy an impromptu (sort of) date night!
