8 years

8 years ago we were in Florence, Italy getting married. Our wedding was the best, and I say that with no reservation. I have yet to attend a wedding that I think was better than mine. I can honestly say it was one of the best days of my life. People often speak of pre-wedding jitters and cold feet, I never felt that. I have been grateful every day that I married Marc and couldn't ask for a better husband. We are hoping to go back for our 10th anniversary in a couple of years. If you weren't there, I am posting pictures so you can be jealous. If you were there, I am posting pictures so you can remember how amazing it was.

Happy Easter

We had a pretty low key Easter this year. I really tried to focus on teaching the girls about why we celebrate Easter. I have repeated the exact same family night lesson all month talking about the resurrection of Jesus. I guess it sank in because in the car on the way to church I asked the girl "Do you remember what today is?" They quickly yelled "Easter!" They then proceeded to tell me the story of Easter. I felt like such a good mom. I tried to recapture Alice telling me about Easter. It wasn't as good, but I'm posting the video anyway.

The girls LOVED coloring Easter eggs and we discovered a serious love of hard boiled eggs, which is no surprise because one of their favorite foods is scrambled eggs.

On Saturday we went to the Inman's for an Easter egg hunt. The adults were spared this year since the girls know their colors and could hunt on their own. Of course, when "hiding" the eggs I had to be pretty generous. I just laid the eggs down on the grass in various places. Sandy prepared plastic eggs for the girls and Ryan with candy and money in them: Claire's were pink of course, Alice's were purple, and Ryan got blue. Luckily the weather was clear, if a little cold, so we could do this outside.

We had a fun Easter and might be dying eggs again very soon since it was such a highlight. I don't know if the love of hard boiled eggs is the egg or that they get to pick out a pink or yellow egg.

Graduation Day

Yesterday I graduated from Weber State University! I majored in Health Promotion and minored in Nutrition Education. I graduated Magna Cum Laude, the Outstanding Graduate in Nutrition Education, and with the Excellence in Service Distinction. WaHoo! I am so glad to be finally finished and not think about school anymore. I have taken several breaks in my education but not finishing always nagged at me.

I graduated from High School in '00 and college in '11, maybe in '22 I'll get a Master's degree.

Emigration Creek Has Exceeded Flood Stage

That is the headline on the news tonight. In Sacrament Meeting yesterday the bishopric asked everyone to help fill sand bags in preparation for the rain and warm weather today.

We personally didn't need it, but a lot of other people did.

The only thing that makes me worried is that our creek has no landscaping which means it erodes like crazy with any flooding.
Our section of creek

This is for comparison purposes
The snow pack is worse than in 1983 if anyone is familiar. There is still about 3 feet of snow in our driveway and probably 5 or 6 on the hill. There is still a lot of water to come down.
