Today we went to the girls 3 year "well child visit." According to the doctor they are doing awesome! Claire has grown a lot taller and jumped from the 14th percentile for height to the 33rd. She has also slimmed down a bit from the 47th percentile for weight to the 23rd, but we don't care as much about that. Alice is also growing as she jumped from the 1st percentile in height to the 14th! Major improvements by both girls! Alice stilled remains my skinny-minny in the 4th percentile for weight. The doctor was very encouraging about the way we feed our kids. Sometimes I like to have qualified professionals tell me I'm doing a good job. They are also on track or ahead for physical and cognitive development.
This was their first appointment that they were treated like big girls and stood on a scale and sat in a chair to have their vitals taken. Happily, they were given the flu-mist this year instead of a shot. They will also start flouride supplements since we don't have any in our canyon water. They think the supplements are delicious, so whatever.
My girls love going to the doctor and our doctor was quite flattered that they play "Doctor Rachel" by taking turns examining each other.
A fun aside, as we were leaving I ran into a friend from my neighborhood growing up, Marina Nobel, who is a drug rep at that clinic.
Sorry about the lack of pictures but I left my phone in the car.

Little Haunts
Today Janell and I took the girls to This is the Place State Park for their Halloween party called Little Haunts. We all dressed up as Disney Princesses.
There was Trick-or-Treating
as well as crafts
and games
We panned for a little gold
But the best part is always the animals
It was a fun way to kick off Halloween and is was especially great to spend time with Janell.

Carving Pumpkins
After choosing their pumpkins at the pumpkin patch the girls were anxious to carve them. Unfortunately due to busy schedules it took us a little while to get around to it.
| Claire dug right in while Alice preferred to scoop the seeds like a lady. I asked if she wanted to pull them out with her hands she was horrified that I would bring it up. |
| Everyone chose their pattern and I carved them |

Alice's Feet: Update
Today we went to visit Alice's Orthopod for her yearly visit. Lately our only concern has been that her feet seem very flat. To evaluate this they did a couple of X-Rays on her feet. The good news: we are officially done with the brace and her club feet are completely resolved. The bad news: fixing the club feet has unmasked her flat feet. According to her doctor, this is not uncommon with kids like Alice. There isn't much to do to tighten the ligament in the feet that cause flat feet, but he recommended starting her in gymnastics or dance to strengthen her feet muscles which can help a lot. So, if anyone knows of a good gymnastics or dance place in Salt Lake or Park City let me know.

Pumpkin Patch
This year I thought it would be fun to take the girls to a pumpkin farm instead of just buying pumpkins at the grocery store. The girls had a great time picking out their pumpkins and Marc and I had a great time buying tomatoes, peaches and raspberries at the farm.

Lamb Cake
Sandy inherited a cake pan from her mother in the form of a lamb. It is a Catholic tradition to have a lamb cake for Easter. In our family it has turned into a birthday tradition as well. Since I have two kids and we had lots of people over I made two cakes, one vanilla and one chocolate. We couldn't decide who should get the "black sheep" but it wasn't a problem because they chose for themselves. I think they turned out really cute!

3rd Birthday
The girls had their birthday on Wednesday. To celebrate I got off work early so we could have a little party. We kept it simple with a few presents and cupcakes.
The real party was on Sunday. After conference we invited some family over for pulled pork sandwiches and cake. It was really fun to get everyone together.
