Halloween Fun Part III

Halloween Fun Part II

Melanie and Ryan joined us for Boo at the Zoo. Once again, the girls loved the idea of people handing them candy. Marc let them have dum-dums and they went to town on them. Alice was very lady like and didn't make a mess but Claire struggled keeping the blue just in her mouth.

Halloween Fun Part 1

This year we had a couple days of Halloween fun. On Friday we went to the canyon trunk-or-treat. It was a lot of fun this year because the girls had some grasp of what was happening. Claire was in love with her candy cauldron. She wouldn't let it go for anything. We were a little worried she would want to sleep with it. The only thing that comforted her was the promise of going to the zoo to get more candy in the morning.
The top left pictures are of the girls coloring their treat bags, and the bottom left is Alice at the fish pond.

Living Planet Aquarium

Today for our weekly outing with Grandma we went to the Living Planet Aquarium. We were unexpectedly and happily joined by my aunt Laura. None of us had ever been but we thought the girls would enjoy it. They LOVED it. Alice was so excited she could hardly focus and was constantly wanting to quickly move on to the next thing to take it all in.
Claire and Laura watching the penguins.
Grandma and Alice. Penguins are one of their favorite
animals so this was really great

Alice kept telling me she wanted to touch the sting ray,
but whenever they got close enough she would freak out.

A little skeptical of the jelly fish
The memberships there are pretty cheap so we got one. It was really fun and we didn't even have time to see an entire section of the aquarium. Fun for another day.

A quick trip to Logan

This week was Fall Break so with my couple of days off I took the girls (along with my mom) to visit my grandparents in Logan. The first stop was to my friend Su's house where it was so nice to catch up with her for a bit while our kids played. We then went to the cheese factory where we discovered SUPER cheap shelf stable single serve milks (I buy these for my girls on the run. They are normally $1.20, I buy them when they go on sale for $1, at the factory they were $.30. YEAH!). We then headed over to my grandparents. Shockingly the girls warmed up very quickly, especially to my grandma. I think her toys helped. My grandma gave Claire a kitty that she has been holding onto ever since.
We were planning on going out to dinner but when we called my Aunt Gail's house to see if they wanted to come we found out my cousin Stephanie and her kids were there and they invited us over for french toast and carmel apples. Since we were there to visit we couldn't pass up the invitation. I also knew that my girls would do much better at my aunt's house then at a restaurant. I was right. They had a really good time playing with the kids and making carmel apples.

Alice and Ellie

Anyone who knows Alice knows what a big deal this picture is

The girls were really silly before bed

We ended the visit with lunch at the senior center. My grandparents
volunteer there quite a bit.

We had a really fun visit and will try to get up to Logan more often. It was fun to see my grandparents one-on-one instead of part of a crowd, which is how we usually see them.

First headache

Yesterday we spent the day with Marc's family to celebrate Melanie's birthday. It is always fun to see them and the girls love it. However, last night on the way home Claire kept crying and telling us that her head hurt. I gave her some Tylanol but she just cried and held her head. I felt so bad for her. Marc suffered from migraines as a kid and our doctor has told us that might be a problem for her since she also suffers from motion sickness. I worry about her and hopefully we don't have too many repeats of last night. We think that all of the excitement and a little sugar from the party may have caused the dismay.

Birthday Party

On Friday we celebrated the girl's birthday with a little BBQ at my parent's house. It was really fun to see family and friends for our little party!
My mom spent a lot of time making this cake and it was so adorable.
We decided on the farm cake since the girls, especially Alice, love farms and animals.

It was difficult waiting to dig in

Singing "Happy Birthday"

Blowing out the candles

A little help from Rara was needed
Cute and yummy, thanks mom!
