First Talk and Prayer

Claire was asked to give a talk in primary today on baptism. They wanted it to be 2 1/2 minutes. I wrote her a little talk and when we practiced it she got bored and silly about half way through so I cut it down to a more manageable size. We practiced and practiced and practiced. Marc also set up a mock pulpit in our living room for her to practice at. Alice was annoyed that she wasn't going to get to talk in the microphone and that she didn't need to practice so we let her practice along with Claire. We got to church early so Claire could practice at church and feel comfortable. Since we were early Alice was asked to give the opening prayer since the person who was asked was not there. Alice did a great job and brushed aside help where she proceeded to bless to food and sat down. She was so proud of herself and got a chuckle from the adults. Claire was so excited that all through opening exercises she kept telling me she wanted to give her talk right then. Finally it was her turn. She walked right up gave her talk clearly and confidently. It was so cute and she received many compliments. Her talk was a follows:

Jesus showed us the right way to live and I want to be like Jesus.

Jesus told us: except a man be born of water and of the spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of God
Because I want to live with Heavenly Father and Jesus I will do what Jesus did and be baptized and confirmed a member of the church.
I am excited to choose the right and be baptized when I am 8. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
