This is the Place

When my mom comes up to see the girls, we like to go do something fun. We were planning on going to the zoo today but my mom wanted to mix it up so we went to This is the Place Heritage Park.
Most of the crafts and activities were a little old for the girls, but they adored washing clothes.
Alice should have been a farm kid. She tore into the petting area and was so excited she couldn't decide which animal to pet first and would flit from animal to animal with major excitement. Claire was a little more hesitant and spent a little time safely in her stroller. As we were getting ready to go we were told that the lambs were about to be fed if we wanted to wait. We did. The girls were a little spooked by how excited the lambs were about their bottles so my mom ended up feeding them. But it was still fun.
This is the Place does free pony rides. The girl helping us told us that Alice and Claire would be more comfortable if we let them pet the horse and get accustom to the the animals before riding. I first brought Claire over but she had little interest in petting the pony she just kept telling me "ride horsey, ride horsey" so we did. Alice did basically they same thing. Both of the girls LOVED it. They both just beamed the entire time they rode the pony. I believe that this was a major highlight in their short lives.

We heard about the "horshie" rides! They are naturals! It looks like it was a lot of fun for everyone.
